The Bee's Knees

This week Sam and I went to The Bee's Knees located at 211 10th Street in Downtown Augusta.  The spot is fairly well known by locals and has always received positive reviews, which it deserves due to its scrumptious entrees, candle lit ambiance, and delightful staff.
Let me start off by saying that it's a tapas bar, meaning that all the dishes on the menu are smaller in portion and meant to be shared.  So if you're really hungry and don't feel like ordering a few different items off the menu, this probably isn't the place for you.  That being said they do offer a few bigger meals and everything there is pretty affordable (the most expensive dish we ordered being only $7).
To kick off with we both ordered bottles of Blenheim's spicy ginger ale.  I had quesadillas with blue crab and Sam ordered crab cakes.  The quesadillas were served with a pineapple salsa which was great.  Sam's crab cakes came with two different sauces on the plate, one mild and one spicy.  Both had good flavor.  After we had finished the quesadillas and crab cakes we ordered a plate of sweet potato hummus and pita.  It was good, but a little bland.
For dessert I ordered marscapone citrus cheesecake and Sam ordered creme brûlée.  Both were absolutely amazing.
Overall if you're looking for a place to go where the atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious and affordable, The Bee's Knees is the place for you.
